Resident Engineer
Job Description
Resident Engineers act as a bridge between project managers, construction teams, and clients. Your responsibilities typically include conducting site inspections, managing construction crews, resolving technical issues that arise during construction, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. You are also responsible for keeping detailed records of project progress and communicating updates to all stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Check that construction is in accordance with the plans and specifications.
- Ensure that works on site are executed in accordance with the Contract and the Site QESH Plan.
- Ensure that all the requirements to the specifications in regards with materials and workmanship are compiled by the Contractors.
- Ensure that all reports for measurement, inspection and testing / commissioning are properly maintained.
- Ensures that finished works are free from defects, tested, commissioned and readily maintainable.
- Raise non-conformance reports and follow-up on corrective actions.
- If required, detect potential time lost and design cost overruns at the earliest possible opportunity and initiate preventive actions.
Job Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 15 years of working experience.
- Sufficient working experience in managing infrastructure projects preferably in Project Management Consultancy Services role.
- Able to lead a team of Senior Engineers & Construction Managers
- Able to manage multiple project portfolios in various development cycle
- Good knowledge in project implementation from initiation, planning & design, execution and up to closing phase.
- Good knowledge in project coordination and value management / value engineering.
- Has adequate exposure in software such as Microsoft Projects and Primavera.
- Proficient in MS Office with excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Possess a valid CIDB Green Card
